My Four Loves

There are four main loves of my life: God, family and friends, books, and science. It’s not surprising I’d find a way to combine most of them! I grew up in a wonderful Christian family where I was encouraged to follow God’s plan for my life. That plan involved me going on to college and graduate school and becoming a scientist. God continued to guide me through my journey, which soon included a husband and two sons.

I loved books from the first moment I could read. I’ve written short stories and in journals over the years, but as a full-time working mom there was never much time to write for pleasure. As my boys grew older, however, I carved out the time. I carried a notebook with me everywhere I went, and Following the Sparrows emerged bit by bit, whether it was a few pages at baseball or soccer practice, or after the boys went to bed. It was no surprise that my first main character would be a scientist.

I enjoy reading faith-based stories, and because my faith is so important to me, those are what I write as well. My characters aren’t perfect, but they’re either trying to find God (although they may not know it yet), or they’re trying to grow closer to God. I pray you will grow closer to God through reading these stories.

My boys are now in high school and college, and the time for writing has increased. Following the Sparrows became the first book of a three-book series, all of which can be read separately, but follow the lives of the same group of characters in the fictional town of Pine Springs. I hope you enjoy them all!
